Three Hotel Projects to Watch in Austria
The hotel pipeline in Austria includes projects at very different points in the process. Three examples from our hotel database show the range: two refurbishments in Vienna and a new build in Tyrol. One is in pre-planning, one is in planning, and one is already under construction. Together they involve hotel chains in Austria such as Pullman, AC Hotels by Marriott, and Four Points Flex by Sheraton, plus a five-star project with no brand listed.

Two Refurbishments in Vienna
The Pullman Hotel Vienna Am Belvedere is in the pre-planning stage. It will replace the Lindner Hotel Vienna Am Belvedere, which will change operator, be renovated, and reopen under Accor's premium brand. The four-star hotel is located at Rennweg 12 and is listed with 219 rooms and a 2028 opening date. Österreichisches Verkehrsbüro AG is the listed management company, and the hotel will include a restaurant, a fitness center, a spa, and a conference center.
The AC Hotel by Marriott Vienna Naschmarkt is in planning. After extensive renovations, the Austria Trend Hotel Ananas will become a dual-branded property, with Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Naschmarkt alongside the AC Hotel. Verkehrsbuero Hospitality is the developer, and ATP Architekten & Ingenieure is the architect. It will have a four-star rating, 221 rooms, and an address on Rechte Wienzeile, with the opening date still to be announced.
A New Build in Tyrol
Hotel Matrei Osttirol is under construction in Tyrol, making it an example of new hotel construction in Austria. The five-star hotel is a new building with 150 rooms. Schultz Gruppe is the developer, and Carpe Solem is the management company. It is the only new build of the three projects, and the only one already under construction.
The three projects also sit at different points on the calendar. Hotel Matrei Osttirol has the nearest opening date, set for the second quarter of 2027. The Pullman Hotel Vienna Am Belvedere follows in 2028. The AC Hotel by Marriott Vienna Naschmarkt does not have a date yet, which fits a project that is still in planning. Of course, these dates can change, so we’ll be interested to see where everything sits a few months from now and will provide more updates then.
Following Austria's Hotel Pipeline
These projects show how much a hotel's status can differ from one listing to the next. A refurbishment in pre-planning, a conversion in planning, and a new build under construction each call for different information. And, as previously mentioned, operators, developers, architects, and opening dates can—and often do—change as a project moves forward. For hotel suppliers in Austria, a project's phase, opening date, and the companies involved show where it stands and who to follow.
The THP database tracks hotel projects in Austria and beyond, and it includes much more than what is covered here. Users can look up each project's phase, rooms, location, opening date, key contacts, the companies involved, and more. The database also shows when a project moves from one phase to the next. For anyone watching the hotel pipeline in Austria, it puts that information in one place.
Please note: Information regarding project details—including but not limited to opening dates, room counts, and branding—for hotels under development can change as projects progress. The information in this article reflects the most accurate details available at the time of writing and may not be updated afterward.
